Geneva

The heart of French-speaking Switzerland, Geneva is the second largest city in the country, and is well known for its cosmopolitan atmosphere. On the banks of Lake Geneva, the city is beautifully framed by the Swiss Alps to the east, with a wealth of activities within its borders. Jet d’Eau is perhaps Geneva’s most distinguishing feature. Situated near Lake Geneva, this fountain shoots 140-feet in the air. The nearby Flower Clock is also a popular sight. In town, many flock to Maison Tavel. At over 500 years old, it is Geneva’s oldest house and offers a glimpse of domestic life in the city over the centuries. Geneva is also home to a number of museums, including one at CERN, site of the large hadron collider.

At night, options in Geneva are limited. However, there is a relatively large casino located on the outskirts of town that is open until well into the morning. Casino du Lac Geneva features the classic table games, such as Roulette, Blackjack and Poker. There are also many electronic gaming machines to choose from. In order to gain entry into the casino, patrons must be at least 18 with a valid ID. Casual dress is permitted.
