Murcia

Murcia is a region in Spain, located in the southeastern part of the country, on Spain’s Mediterranean coast. The Region’s capital and largest city is also named Murcia, a popular tourist destination for those looking to explore the nearby Costa Calida or “Warm Coast”, Murcia’s Mediterranean coastline, known for its relatively hot temperatures year-round. The city, of Murcia is known as “Europe’s orchard”, due to its long agricultural tradition and as a major fruits, vegetables and flowers producer and supplier of Spain and the rest of Europe. Murcia’s center is nearly 700 years old and is a combination of gothic and baroque architecture. From the city center, the walkable streets that wind through town are filled with excellent restaurants and tapas bars, according to the Mediterranean tradition, which are known as some of the best in the country.

The only casino in the region is the Gran Casino Murcia, located in the capital. Opened in 1847, it is one of the most famous casinos in Spain, and has recently been restored to its full splendor which includes a ballroom, reading room and library.
