Nord-Pas-de-Calais borders Belgium in northern France and contains notable cities like Calais, Touquet, Dunkerque and Lille. Calais is a popular port town with a beautiful sandy beach in addition to plenty of excellent restaurants and shopping opportunities. Touquet and Dunkerque are also known beach-towns, ideal for tourist exploration, and the latter is well known for its WWII history. Off the coast, Lille is a beautiful and historic town best known for its world-renowned Fine Arts Museum, Citadel and photogenic town square.
