Casino Hannover Review

The casino in Hannover was our next stop after Casino Duisburg. Hanover is considered to be the most standard city in Germany. Hannover’s socio demographic characteristics are representative of the general trends in Germany. The Hanoverian dialect is considered standard German. I am relieved to say, though, that the casino in Hannover is not representative of the normal German Casino.

Casino Hannover is located directly behind the main train station, which makes it easily accessible by public transportation. In fact, the casino seems to be located in a Hannover nightlife hotspot. There is a large cinema complex, restaurants and a cool looking disco just around the corner. However, in my opinion the casino is only worth a visit if you are a local, or travelling through downtown Hannover, and wouldn’t recommend making a detour to visit this casino.

Dress Code Casino Hannover

Casino Hannover does not appear to enforce any kind of dress code. I saw quite a few young men in jeans and a T-Shirt. But there were also a couple of jackets.

Slots Casino Hannover

We were greeted kindly in the reception area on the first floor of the casino. We were allowed in after we presented our passports. The entrance fee is 2 € for a day ticket. From the reception area, a wide marble spiral staircase leads up to the gaming area on the second floor. There is also a small handicapped lift to the second floor.

The slots casino is located to the right of the staircase. The slots area is divided into smoking, and non-smoking sections. The smoking area, however, is not properly sealed or ventilated, allowing the cigarettes smoke to flood the entire casino, which is a great pity. Other than that, however, the casino appears to be clean and very well maintained.

The selection of slots is not large (140 machines according to the casino’s website), mainly 5 reel video slots. There are also several stations of electronic Roulette. I also saw some traditional One-Arm Bandit

Table Games Casino Hannover

The Table Game area is located to the left of the staircase. We entered the Casino at about 22:00 on a Wednesday. There were not so many players at the casino and not very much was going at that time. Four roulette tables were in operation, two with a minimum was 2 €, the other two with a minimum of 5 €. There was also one Blackjack table open, with minimum of 4 € (maximum 200 €). A few relatively young people were playing poker at one of the five available poker tables. We left the casino without playing, though. My girlfriend was complaining about the cigarettes smell. As a matter of fact, I had to sympathize with her, as the smell was really overwhelming.

Conclusion

The Casino Hannover offers everything that you may expect from a casino. Only everything here feels somewhat provincial. If you are already in Hannover, you may want to stop by the Casino. The Casino is definitely not worth the detour.
